Mark Making

Mark Making is a skill we want to develop in the children and many of our activities are centered around this.  Gross and fine motor control is essential if the children are to become 'writers.'  Activities like painting, drawing, playdough, and lots of gross motor physical skills all contribute towards the children becoming writers.
Painting with water outdoors is great for developing fine and gross motor skills.
We love to draw and write on large sheets of wallpaper (any donations gratefully received!)

Whiteboards are great for writing and drawing as if we make a mistake or don't like something we just rub it off.

We all hold our pens and pencils differently.  This is a developmental stage in the childrens writng development please do not try and correct this before they are ready.

 Mark making is great fun!
