Planting Finally!!

On Friday it finally stopped raining long enough for us to start planting and preparing the soil by adding new compost and mixing in.

 Bob helped to drill some holes into the bottom of our new containers to allow for drainage.

 This is going to be our herb garden which we will be able to use during our weekly cooking sessions and also our family cookery club.

 They even look pretty and smell nice too.

 It was hard work digging the tyres as the soil was so wet- we really had to use all of our muscles to turn the soil over to add in the compost.

 Planting strawberries we are looking forward to eating them.

 Planting our bushes they will give our sensory and small area lots of colour in the Spring.

 Hopefully the rain will stay away long enough next week for us to be able to finish planting the beds and then we can start to move items in the playground a bit more.  Thankyou all for your support and feedback about the playground improvements it will be worth all the mess when everything is completed.  I think you will all agree how much the children are enjoying the new equipment which we have been able to buy through the Awards for all lottery money.
