Playground Developments

Hopefully you will have noticed lots of changes have happened in the Foundation playground over the last few weeks.  Our lottery money has funded the new planters in the yard and we are now preparing the soil and getting ready to plant.  Unfortunately the weather has been against us this week so we have all got our fingers crossed that the sun will shine so we can get planting.

It was hard work mixing up the soil and the compost we had to really use our shoulder strength and muscles.

Mixing soil in the tyre- we are going to plant different grasses in this tyre so that we can use it as our small world play area too.  It will be great when we have a proper natural world to hide elephants and dinosaurs in.

We have planted an apple tree.  This will give us lovely blossom in the spring and juicy apples later in the year.

We looked at, touched and smelt all the lovely herbs we are going to plant and then use in our cooking sessions.  One of our plants is called lambs ears which feel like soft furry ears.  Lots of our plants smell nice and produce lots of colour throughout the year.
